When a community seizes agency the impossible becomes achievable. Commissioned by the Sandbanks Community Group to resist the loss of their well-loved but decaying Haven Hotel we proposed to open the site to a new public esplanade and create a 60m beacon that landmarks the gateway to Pool Harbour and Marconi’s first experiments with radio transmission.
The comprehensive development of public cold water lido & seaside esplanade, deckclub and boutique hotel will bring 21st century hospitality to visitors and residents alike and ensure its vibrance into the 21st century.The design seeks to balance environmental stewardship with thoughtful development, supporting local employment, enhancing public access, and promoting biodiversity. By blending architectural sensitivity with innovative solutions, the project ensures that the Haven Hotel site remains a vibrant, integral part of the community, enriching the landscape and offering a space that celebrates both its history and future.
